Celtic Anglian Water (CAW) shortlisted for Two Industry Awards
Today (10th March 2021) it was announced that Celtic Anglian Water (CAW) has reached the finals of the prestigious WWT (Water & Wastewater Treatment) Awards (2021). CAW was shortlisted in not just one but two categories – ‘Asset Optimisation Initiative of the Year’ and ‘Health and Safety Initiative of the Year’.
It’s the first time that CAW has entered these awards, which are entirely dedicated to the water sector. The WWT Awards give longstanding recognition of high standards and achievement; recognize outstanding innovation; and celebrate excellence, creativity and hard work. They also shine a light on the great contribution a company and its’ people are making to the sector.
CAW is one of seven finalists in both categories.
The ‘Asset Optimisation Initiative of the Year’ award recognises where clear improvements in asset management have been delivered. CAW’s entry focused on its’ introduction of a standardised, company-wide, data-based continuous improvement approach, which integrated ‘Lean Six Sigma’ principles into its’ asset management and core operational philosophy. The initiative succeeded in delivering a range of benefits across multiple projects, including reduced costs and improved efficiency.
The ‘Health and Safety (H&S) Initiative of the Year’ award recognises exceptional commitment to H&S by a company or organisation within the industry, which goes beyond statutory requirements. CAW’s entry focused on its ‘LIFE’ programme, which takes a holistic approach to employee wellbeing, physical and mental health. The successful, on-going programme has significantly reduced absence rate as well as Relative Accident Frequency Rate over the last three years.
Declan Maguire, Managing Director of CAW, said: “We’re delighted to have been shortlisted in these two categories alongside some much larger companies and organisations. Reaching the finals is a reflection of the hard work being put in by everybody at CAW every day – whether it be delivering great service and solutions for our customers, or working to ensure the safety and well-being of our staff”.
The virtual awards ceremony will take place on 27th May, at 4.00pm. The full list of finalists, and a link to register for a place at the Awards, can be found at: https://waterindustryawards.co.uk/2021-finalists/
